Where has the time gone?
Somehow over a year has gone by since my last blog post and I’m not exactly sure how time has zipped by. A lot has happened since then that’s for sure. At the end of 2016 I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks and ended up going through a a uterus infection, a bladder infection and a kidney infection all stacked behind each other on top of the emotional toll of a miscarriage. It was a good time to take care of myself and practice what I always preach to my clients: self care and self love.
After a few months we moved yet again, my daughter switched schools and we came to peace with our decision to not try for another pregnancy. At least we thought we had. As we moved we decided to finally let go of all the baby things we had been holding onto for 6 years. Then with a change of heart last summer I found myself pregnant and gave birth to a gorgeous little girl (via VBAC!) on March 26th.
So here I am again- mom to a newborn. In some ways it’s like riding a bike and some things are so much easier this time around (like noticing what a tired baby looks like before she’s over tired!) Other things I’ve forgotten and am wading through the deep waters of motherhood. And other things are brand new to me- like how on earth to be the mother of a 7 year old and a newborn at the same time. Nothing could have prepared me for this. Sometimes it’s hilarious, it’s always amazing but most days it’s just plain hard. Wanting to be with both of my girls at the same and not being able to tend to my older one because the baby needs to be nursed and put down to sleep can be heart wrenching. We’ll get through this though, just like everyone else does. Even if it means that this time around there will be a lot more napping in a baby carrier than in a crib.
As I re-embark on this journey I plan to also re-emerge out of my blogging cocoon and get to the keyboard much more often. If there are any topics you’d like me to touch on please let me know! I can’t wait to start this whole journey again and I hope you stick around, browse around the blog and stick with me for all the new info to come!
