Annabelle’s Lunch Box

Preparing lunches is no quick task in my house. I wish it was. I wish I could just throw something together and be done with it so I could move on to doing something more fun. I’m pretty OCD about making sure that everybody has a lunchbox full of healthy food to take with them and Annabelle comes first on the list and usually takes the longest to prepare.

Annabelle is just days away from turning 1(!!!) and she loves her finger foods! I try to make sure she always has something green and I try to vary it so she doesn’t get bored. Lunch usually consists of leftovers unless there aren’t any and then I make something. This is what her lunchbox looked like this morning.


A hard boiled organic, pastured egg drizzled with olive oil and a touch of sea salt. Fresh, organic blueberries that have been cut in half and a bottle of breast milk.


Homemade organic spinach soup made with raw milk. Organic, chicken and sweet potatoes (not organic because they made the clean 15) and a cup of raw cows milk. She doesn’t really drink liquids with lunch but I like to send It just in case. Sometimes she gets a cup of water or coconut juice instead.


Today is a long day so she has a bigger snack than usual. Raw milk yogurt sprinkled with ginger, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Organic freeze dried strawberries and a large cup that she drinks after her afternoon nap. The afternoon cup is usually breast milk or homemade formula made with raw goat milk, depending on my stash of breast milk.

There you have it. 6 dishes and 3 bottles/cups all prepared with much love the night before. 6 dishes and 3 bottles/cups that need to be unpacked, cleaned and repacked tonight for school tomorrow. Ay.
