Make your fresh herbs last!
How many times have you bought delicious, fresh herbs only to use a tiny bit and end up tossing the rest out? Unfortunately it’s happened to me pretty often but the good news is there’s a way to keep them from going to waste.
What you’ll need:
Your favorite fresh herbs (rosemary, basil, parsley, mint, sage etc.)
Olive Oil or melted butter
An Ice cube tray
Here’s how:
Ice cubes with flowers and herbs in glass, on blue background
Chop up your herbs and put about a tbsp. worth of herbs into each ice cube and then top it off with about a tbsp. of olive oil or butter.
Throw the ice cube tray in the freezer until frozen.
Once they’re frozen pop them out of the tray and save them in individual baggies.
Next time you make a stir-fry or sauté something just throw in a frozen cube to add instant flavor to your dinner!
Mix it up:
You can even try mixing basil or mint with some apple juice and turn them into fabulous ice cubes for flavored water – or even to throw into a glass of white wine!
